Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot who is currently on loan at Italian Serie A giants AC Milan wants to continue his stay in Italy instead of returning to his parent club this summer. The Portugal international right-back walked through the exit door at Old Trafford last summer on a temporary loan deal that saw him spend the entirety of this season in Italy and has impressed during his stay there.

Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær revealed that the reason behind sending the defender out on loan was so that he could go get himself some minutes on the pitch as it would have been difficult for him to always stay on the bench this season. The signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka by Solksjær posed a huge threat to Dalot’s position in the team as the former Crystal Palace defender walked straight to the starting team, putting Dalot’s place at huge risk.
