The South American duo of Fred and EdinsonCavani are expected to return to the Manchester United squad when they take on Italian team Atalanta in a crucial Champions League clash on Wednesday night. The two players missed the Premier League encounter with Leicester City on Saturday due to the commitment with their respective national teams.

Cavani and Fred were not in the Manchester United squad that lost 4-2 to home team Leicester City thus making it three games without a win on the Premier League table. The South American duo are expected to make the Red Devils squad for the home clash with Atalanta in the Champions League later this week.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a man under increasing pressure to arrest the recent poor run of form by his team especially in the Premier League. To this effect,Solskjaer and his players need a result against Atalantawhen they meet at Old Trafford. Manchester United have gone three games without a win in the league since the late 2-1 win over hosts West Ham United last month.

The 4-2 loss at the home of Leicester City at the weekend took their run of games without a win to three. Manchester United took the lead through Mason Greenwood but still managed to lose the game via the goals from the Leicester City quartet of YouriTielemans, CaglarSoyuncu, Jamie Vardy and substitute PatsonDaka. England national team player Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score the second Manchester United goal. Rashford brought the game back to 2-2 after Leicester City regained the lead through Turkish defender Soyuncu. Vardy and Daka then scored two late goals to take the game away from the Red Devils.

Solskjaer and his wards have failed to beat Aston Villa (home), Everton (home) and Leicester City (away) in their last three games in the league.
