Cavani and Fred were not in the Manchester United squad that lost 4-2 to home team Leicester City thus making it three games without a win on the Premier League table. Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has revealed that his former side now have what it takes to give their rivals a run for their money and start competing against them for major titles starting from this season. Rooney said that United now have a squad large enough and with so much quality that their season would be regarded as a failure if they failed to win any major title at the end of the season. Rooney was speaking based on the transfer business his former employers did in the summer transfer window and according to him, they stand a huge chance to win the English Premier League title this season because of the big squad that they have which he believes is filled with talent, quality, and experience all at the same time.

Manchester United did have themselves a remarkable transfer window and it is evident enough in the fact that they completed the sufn=gs of England international winger Jadon Sancho from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, and they followed up that huge signing by bringing France international central defender Raphael Varane from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid weeks after the Sancho deal.

UNITED TO SIGN A MIDFIELDER IF POGBA LEAVES

English Premier League giants Manchester United will reportedly sign another midfielder if they lose Paul Pogba this summer, according to reports. France international midfielder Pogba has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months and even though he continues to play down the rumors, they just keep on surfacing. The former Juventus star has remained an unsettled figure under Olé Gunnar Solksjær and he has continued to be tipped by his agent Mino Raiola to leave the club and move to another club.

Solskjær is a big fan of Pogba and has always declared that he will be more than glad to have the towering midfielder continue his career with the Red Devils and that he also would love to keep his star players to increase his chances of lifting titles as manager of the club. However, even though Solksjær wants to keep Pogba at the club, he still has to prepare for the worse that could happen given how unpredictable football is nowadays.

DALOT INTERESTED IN MAKING HIS MILAN LOAN PERMANENT

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot who is currently on loan at Italian Serie A giants AC Milan wants to continue his stay in Italy instead of returning to his parent club this summer. The Portugal international right-back walked through the exit door at Old Trafford last summer on a temporary loan deal that saw him spend the entirety of this season in Italy and has impressed during his stay there.

Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær revealed that the reason behind sending the defender out on loan was so that he could go get himself some minutes on the pitch as it would have been difficult for him to always stay on the bench this season. The signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka by Solksjær posed a huge threat to Dalot’s position in the team as the former Crystal Palace defender walked straight to the starting team, putting Dalot’s place at huge risk.

SANCHO TO UNITED COULD STILL HAPPEN THIS SUMMER

One of the longest drawn transfer sagas of the last summer could still resurface this summer, and this time, there could finally be success recorded. English Premier League giants Manchester United tracked German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund’s exciting winger Jadon Sancho for the entirety of the past summer transfer window only for the deal to collapse as both clubs failed to arrive at an agreement.

English winger Sancho was said to be interested in making the transfer happen but he refused to push for a transfer so as not to offend the club’s bosses. However, the deal could still be alive and may even happen this summer, according to respected journalist and Bundesliga expert, Daniel Pinder.

Predicted Manchester United XI To Take On Manchester City

League leaders Manchester City welcome their city rivals Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening as both teams lock horns in the Manchester Derby holding different agendas in mind. On City’s part, they will be looking to maintain their winning streak and also aim to extend their points gap at the top of the Premier League table.

For Manchester United, while they will be looking to maintain their own unbeaten run, they will also want to do everything it takes to ensure that they reduce the number of points they are trailing the leaders with. It is expected to be both an interesting and a heated tie given the history of this fixture but with City nearing the Premier League title already, they will want to do everything in their capacity and apply any trick possible to put their rivals to the sword.

PREDICTED LINEUP FOR WEST BROMWICH ALBION VS MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solskjær and his players will be traveling to the West Midlands to take on Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over West Ham in their FA Cup game at Old Trafford. The Red Devils welcomed David Moyes’ men to their home turf but needed a Scott McTominay strike during extra-time to emerge winners on the night of the FA Cup action.

The game was dominated by United as they played a total of 17 shots and had a larger share of the ball possession (62%) while finding it hard to break down a resilient West Ham defense. It was McTominay’s seventh goal of the season as he continues to make a claim for a starting berth in the United starting lineup.

HOW CAVANI ESCAPED DISMISSAL AT EVERTON

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani rode his luck during the Carabao Cup win over Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night. Uruguayan international Cavani was a major topic of discussion at the end of the Carabao Cup quarterfinal tie between hosts Everton and Manchester United. The new Manchester United signing missed some clear-cut opportunities in the first half of the game as he was denied on several occasions by the Everton goalkeeper, Robin Olsen.EdinsonCavani was making his first start for the Red Devilssince returning from a muscle injury sustained at a recent league game at West Ham United and he could have given Manchester United a lead at the half-time break if he was clinical in front of goal.

EdinsonCavanihad been in a battle with Everton centre back Yerry Mina since the start of the game and he took it up a notch by grabbing the throat of the player in an incident that could have led to his dismissal. Cavanigrabbed Yerry Mina by the throat before pushing him down. Centre referee Andrew Madley missed the incident and with VAR absent from the Carabao Cup quarterfinal ties this season, EdinsonCavaniescaped punishment. MANCHESTER UNITED TARGET FOUR SIGNINGS

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing the addition of four new signings to complete the overhaul of the squad at Old Trafford. According to the Manchester Evening News (MEN), Manchester United want four new players but that might not be possible when the winter transfer window reopens in the next two weeks. It was revealed that Premier League clubs including Manchester United are expected to have a quiet winter transfer window as they continue to feel the effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Manchester United might need to wait till next summer’s transfer window to sign the players that they want.

Manchester United made a big move in January when they signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon for an initial fee of £47m. The Portuguese international signed for the Red Devils at the start of the year and he has been an excellent signing for the former European champions.
